For over twenty-five years, my definition of success was a rigid, vertical line. As an Occupational Therapist, the goal was simple: work harder, log long hours, and climb the healthcare ladder.

But what happens when that ladder shatters?

I am so excited and deeply honored to announce that I have been featured in the March 2026 edition of She Wins magazine! My piece, titled "In Need of a Serious 'Latitude Adjustment': Leaving the Healthcare Career Ladder to Chart a Course for Accessible Travel," is officially out now.

When I was unexpectedly terminated from a high-stakes overseas role serving U.S. military personnel—a job I thought was the pinnacle of my career—the shock to my system was profound. But in the stillness that followed, I realized something vital: I didn't want to repair the ladder to look exactly like what had just broken me. I needed to build something entirely different.

In this month's issue of She Wins, I share the behind-the-scenes reality of my pivot from clinical burnout to full-time accessible travel planning. I discuss:

  • The Ultimate Internal Win: Moving from needing external validation to finding worthiness within.

  • Reimagining the Path: Realizing my true value lies in the unique intersection of my clinical OT expertise and the logistical know-how of a travel planner.

  • Empowering Others: Helping other therapists escape burnout by starting their own accessible travel planning businesses.

I’ve learned that success is actually the courage to pivot when the road ends, and the wisdom to measure your worth by your own standards.

I would love for you to read the full piece! You can find the March 2026 issue of She Wins Magazine right here:
