Resilience and Rebirth: Why ATP is Becoming a Non-Profit Organization

A New Chapter for ATP: Transforming Into a Non-Profit Organization

Two years ago, I started Accessible Travel Planners (ATP) with a simple goal: to help travel agents specialize in booking travel for people with disabilities. I had no idea that a $27 pre-launch simple course would turn into a movement, selling over 200 times in two months and eventually helping over 1,100 people launch their own travel businesses.

We’ve had incredible highs—like our live launch in Las Vegas and being selected for the Mastermind Launch Lab in Scottsdale, AZ. But as many entrepreneurs know, the road to success is rarely a straight line.

Navigating the Storm In January 2024, I moved to Germany, and shortly after, I faced a severe battle with burnout. While I was fighting for my health, I also faced unexpected challenges in my professional life. In the fall of 2025, sudden changes with my former host agency left me standing with only one thing remaining: ATP.

It was a wake-up call. I realized that while contracts and business partners can come and go, the mission of ATP—to advocate for accessibility and inclusion in travel—was mine to protect. I knew I needed a structure that would shield this mission from the volatility of life and business.

The Future is Non-Profit

Today, I am proud to announce that Accessible Travel Planners is transitioning to a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization.

This isn't just a change in tax status; it’s a change in heart. We are shifting our focus from profit to purpose. By becoming a non-profit organization, we can dedicate 100% of our efforts to serving the disability community through:

  • Education & Empowerment: Providing top-tier training for travelers, caregivers, and travel professionals.

  • Financial Assistance: We are establishing scholarships and travel grants to ensure that cost is never the barrier to an accessible adventure.

  • Global Action Initiatives: We are already planning mission-based group trips to bring accessibility to corners of the world that need it most.

  • Systemic Advocacy: We will fight for industry-wide standards that make travel dignified for everyone.

Join Us on the Journey We are currently filing our paperwork in Colorado and building our Board of Directors. Whether you are a travel agent, a traveler with a disability, or an ally, there is a seat for you at our table.

We are rebuilding—not just a business, but a legacy.
